Why we started

Why we started

When the 2018 floods swept across Kerala, thousands lost homes, belongings, and access to essentials. Helping Hands responded immediately — with food, clothes, house repair aid, and a fleet of volunteers.

Birth of the disaster relief wing

We learned that in disasters, the greatest need is a human presence — ready to help, clean, cook, build, and listen. This led to the creation of the Disaster Relief Wing to stand with people when they lose everything.

Sleeping in unsafe, unhygienic areas near hospitals

Daily infection risk from public transport

Skipping meals and poor nutrition

Mental and emotional distress

Birth of the disaster relief wing

Care Home was born as a door to compassion, offering a safe, clean, and caring residential environment that supports recovery, prevents complications, and eases emotional burden.
